Remembering The Radio Host Who Always Kept It Peel

Oct 12th, 2006 // 4 Comments

To mark John Peel Day–which honors the British DJ, musical omnivore, and rock hero who passed away two years ago this month–we’d like to present a few songs by The Fall. The Mark E. Smith-led outfit was a favorite of Peel’s, and in the above clip, you can get a glimpse of him introducing the band on the BBC; two tracks from The Fall’s endless trove of Peel Sessions are linked below.

He was truly, truly one of the good ones.

What was it he said about The Fall….”they always sound different, they always sound the same.”

    R.I.P. John Peel-uh!
