There are only a handful of bands that your Idolators believe to be completely infallible, and the Exploding Hearts are one of them. Even though three of the band members were killed in a 2003 auto crash, their Guitar Romantic album–a power-pop pièce de resistance–attracts new fans every year; in fact, the band’s posthumous following is so widespread, it helped spur the release of this month’s Shattered, a long-promised odds-and-sods compilation. Two of our favorite Shattered tracks are below, and we implore you to head over to Dirtnap Records and pick up both albums, both of which will become go-to “Everybody’s gotta have this” holiday presents for years to come.
