Edwyn Collins, the former lead singer of the brilliant pop outfit Orange Juice, suffered a brain hemorrhage in February of 2005; in its aftermath, he spent six months in the hospital and had to relearn how to walk, talk, and read. What’s pretty amazing is that, only a year and a half after suffering the aneurysm, his road to recovery reached his London recording studio, and he’s been posting brand-new songs, like “Leviathan” below, to his official MySpace page. We’re pretty huge fans of Orange Juice and Collins’ solo work around here, and the fact that Collins’ unique, tremulous voice is able to speak–let alone sing–again is pretty amazing.
