Led Zeppelin’s “Song Remains The Same” Remains Inane

Hard to believe we almost missed it, but this week is the 30th anniversary of Led Zeppelin’s concert film The Song Remains The Same, one of the best bad music movies of all time. For those of you who didn’t rent it a half-dozen times in junior high-school–each time with the hopes that it would somehow get better, or least less cockamamie–you’re missing out on the bizarre fantasy sequences in which the band members chase wizards and play gangsters. Honestly, not even a few hours in front of a Volcano vaporizer can make this thing tolerable.

But one true-believer fan tried to salvage the movie by taking the footage from the band’s lackluster “Stairway to Heaven” performance and pairing it with the audio from the (awesome) How The West Was Won CD. And you people thought yesterday was nerdy. Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven (new audio) [YouTube]
