Clipse’s “Fury”: The Album They Really, Really Don’t Want You To Hear

Yesterday, we mentioned how the drug-obsessed Clipse’s new album, Hell Hath No Fury, has become one of the most oft-delayed hip-hop albums in recent memory; in fact, we were wondering if we should just start calling it China White Democracy. We also asked for some stories of the band’s slightly overzealous efforts to keep the song off the Web, which have so far proved successful. An anonymous scribe gives us one reason why:

Pusha and Malice must be in the room while it’s played–or at least Pusha does. He left the room to use the restroom and we all just waited, because no one would reach into his bag to pull out the CD, which looked like the studio master. It skipped a lot, which I think means that it’s still the only copy they have to play for people. The publicist doesn’t have her own copy.

Also, Pusha looks writers in the eye and raps along to EVERY line, whether they’re his or not, for the entire album….They also said they let a photographer play it on his laptop while they were shooting photos, and the photog was actually coping it to his computer at the same time. They had to watch him erase it.

No wonder we haven’t heard the damn thing yet! Thankfully, someone was nice enough to send along an MP3 of “Wamp Wamp (What It Do)”, which we only had yesterday in YouTube form. It’s a stream rip, so it’s a little crispy, but the song still sounds amazing:
