Please (Re-)Release Me: Tampa Threesome’s Bleak Visions

alva.jpgThe total recorded output of the Florida trio Alva clocks in at under an hour, and their debut album, the John Zorn-shepherded Fair-Haired Guillotine, is only available via Japanese import at present. Which is a shame; their baroque horn/violin/piano arrangements and childrens’-choir vocals are, after all these years, still hair-raising.

  1. Ned Raggett

At least three Idolator commenters I know of (counting me) can say they were lucky enough to see them live at Terrastock 2 in SF some years back. It was a pretty stellar lineup so the fact that I remember their set vividly still is a good sign; I had always wondered what happened to them.

  2. Glenn Danzig

my 4 year old could make better music than this, and she’s a hot-dog dog! i feel bad for japan. first nagasakey, and now this?

my new album, Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars, was just pulled from circulation

  3. shallowrewards

Glenn is filling up the negative space with positively everything.

    I loved Alva.
