Gerald LeVert Pop, Pop, Pops His Way Into Heaven

Nov 10th, 2006 // 4 Comments

R & B singer Gerald LeVert, who also performed with LeVert and LSG, has passed away after a heart attack, according to reports. The 40-year-old LeVert, the son of O’Jays lead singer Eddie LeVert, was in the midst of shooting a reality show where he was in a weight-loss program with 12 of his female fans. LeVert’s back catalog is filled with gems like “Pop Pop Pop,” but our favorite is the laid-back “Casanova,” which we’ve included below.

oh hell. this is no way to end the week!

    “Casanova” is my favorite, too.

i used to think he was singing,”I am not your Casanova…” instead of “I ain’t much on Casanova…”

    R.I.P. Gerald.

very sad. I was just reminded of him a few weeks ago when I saw a rerun of his daughter carlysia’s “super sweet sixteen.”
