Ron Artest Wants You To Know That His Heart Will Go On

artest.jpgSacramento King-slash-MC Ron Artest revealed his sensitive side in an interview with The Smoking Section , where he praised Nelly for not “talking about killing people” and gave a certain breast-beating Canadian some love:

Give us an artist/group from another genre that you’d like to collabo. Someone outside of the box that people wouldn’t expect.

Celine Dion. She has an amazing voice. I really like the sound and beautiful quality of her voice. She’s an extremely talented singer.

We’re hoping Celine somehow gets wind of this and invites Artest to drop by for a Vegas set–in our dream world, the Francophone singer would persuade him to take some French lessons and throw down a cover of “Bonnie and Clyde.”

Given that a Celine Dion/R. Kelly collaboration already happened, I see no reason this can’t come to pass.

Spin has an interview with him. Funny stuff.

Q: There’s been a pretty comical, embarassing history of basketball players putting out records. What makes you think you can be more successful than, say, Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson or Chris Webber?

A: There’s a comical, embarassing history of labels putting out records. Some artists are ridiculous: They get all the features, all the Scott Storches, and they still flop. They might as well be basketball players!

That photo looks like he stood there while a Dove Bar melted all over his hand.

I’m waiting for Celine and him to do a cover of “Lemon Incest.” It might get her blackballed from Vegas which we all can agree would be a good thing.

    P.S.

My World sold 123 units last week, for a three-week total (plus street date violations) of 579.

    Yikes.

It was up 7% over last week, though.
