Would-Be Guitar Thief Foiled By Too-Tight Jacket

Anyone who owns a store called Guitars and Cadillacs must have seen some creative robberies in his day, but we’re guessing that few of them compare to him having to ask a would-be thief if he had a guitar in his pocket:

“I saw him walking out to his pickup truck and the bulges in his leather jacket. I said, ‘Hey what have you got there,'” Clifton Lovell said.

He said Conatser, 29, replied, “Nothing.”

Lovell pointed toward the unnatural shapes in Conatser’s jacket and pants and said, “You’ve got something.”

Conatser then removed a solid body electric guitar from his pants leg and from underneath his jacket.

Unfortunately, no details about the guitar appear in the AP report, so we’re left to wonder if it was a Flying V, which would probably allow for greater flexibility in movement. Or perhaps our would-be robber was trying to make off with the Jenna Jameson axe?
