Listening Station: Manhattan Love Suicides Turn Up The Fuzz

The indiepop treasure trove Indie MP3 – Keeping C86 Alive! tipped us off to the British quartet Manhattan Love Suicides over the weekend, and, being the suckers for fuzzed-out, female-fronted guitar pop that we are, we got hooked on their just-released debut album about a minute into its first song. “(The Guy On The) 14th Floor” is a head-bopper that manages to cram a pealing guitar freakout into its two minutes, and their distortion-filled cover of the Beat Happening classic “Indian Summer” turns up the volume while retaining the song’s sweetness.
