Videodrone: What Not To Expect From Prince’s Super Bowl Performance

Dec 11th, 2006 // 6 Comments

Today the NFL announced that Prince will play the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 4, and the AP story–which mentioned the Janet Jackson “wardrobe malfunction” and Mick Jagger-bleeping of recent years–made us fondly recall Prince’s scorching performance of “Gett Off” at the 1991 Video Music Awards. The Purple One’s backless costume alone would probably make today’s seven-second-delay operators keel over.

i’m just glad they finally picked someone that can put on a good all around show. the Stones are great and all, but umm it’s like watching zombies on stage.

I wonder how much those dancers were paid?

I’m sure he’ll play “Sexy MF”. Entire networks will then be shut down.

No disrespect(sic), but this is actually fairly old news. This was announced back in the summer. It should be really good. He rarely disappoints on the big stage, especially when he’s playing guitar.
