Here’s the story behind what is undoubtedly one of the coolest press photos of all time: In 1967, Bobby Nunn and Eugene Copeland were two Buffalo teenagers with a love of deep soul and an unlikely music-biz connection; Nunn’s father, William, was a club owner and musical impressario around Buffalo, and it was in his basement studio that the young duo took the name Bob & Gene and recorded the amazing “You Gave Me Love” b/w “Your Name” single.
