ARTIST: Juliana Hatfield SONG: “Raisans,” 1992 FIRST APPEARANCE: Forever Baby EP WHY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN A-SIDE: As soon as we launched “On The Flippity-Flop,” we were deluged with requests to post “Raisans,” Hatfield’s cover of the 1987 Dinosaur Jr. song. Her version’s not as psyched-out as the original, but its fuzzed-out guitar and “ooh-ooh-ooh” break smack in the song’s middle would have made it a smash during the halcyon early-’90s days of modern-rock radio.
