Before We Leave For The Weekend, We’d Like To Remind You To Rock Steady

Feb 9th, 2007 // 3 Comments

There’s been a lot of chatter this week regarding Babyface’s production credits on the Fall Out Boy album, so we figured it was time to give it up for “Rock Steady,” the synthed-out 1987 track that he produced for The Whispers. Sure, the video is pretty basic, but the song is absolutely sublime, particularly the keyboard break right in the middle. (Not to mention that it’s very well-matched with that Scar song we posted earlier this week, to the point where the two nearly sound related.)

The Whispers – Rocksteady [MP3]

Without even watching the video – just reading the title – I realized this song has been taking up (valuable?) brain space for 20 years now.

BTW, do you guys actually have an MP3? That’s just another YouTube link.

    I don’t, alas. I only have an iTunes-purchased copy.

Many thanks for reconnecting me with a longtime fave. Have a nice weekend!
