Listening Station: Things Are Going Swimmingly For The Besnard Lakes
We’re big fans of the Besnard Lakes’ just-released The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horses–and judging from the recent blog-burst about the Canadian band, we’re the only ones caught up in their gloom-and-doom sound. “Disaster” is perhaps the album’s finest moment, but enjoy it while you can; now that the group is getting Pitchfork plaudits, the backlash is only a few months away.
