Welcome to On The Shelf, Idolator’s regular look at new releases that are arriving in stores every Tuesday. In addition to the new album from the most important band of all time (or, at least, this month), there are new releases by the likes of Air, Korn, the Stooges, and the Notorious B.I.G. Our look at those releases comes after the jump.

Air, Pocket Symphony The artist: Whisper-quiet knob-twiddlers. The sound: Shh. They’re thinking. The first in line: These guys. (Hey, they’ll be in line for the Arcade Fire record, anyway.)

Korn, Unplugged The artist: Nu-metallers get sensitive, drag Amy Lee and Robert Smith along for the ride. The sound: We’ll just direct you here. The first in line: Angry dudes who are trapped in their adolescence like a mosquito in amber.

The Stooges, The Weirdness The artist: Punk legends ready to roar after 30 years of dormancy. The sound: A loud squall of yowls and guitars. The first in line: AARPunkers.

Notorious B.I.G., Greatest Hits The artist: Hip-hop heavyweight who was gunned down 10 years ago this week. The sound: Classics from the ’90s and remixes, plus a couple of cameo-riffic new tracks. The first in line: Diddy–and he’ll bring his camera along.
