Listening Station: Parts & Labor’s “Gold” Sounds
has an MP3 of “The Gold We’re Digging,” the first single from Parts & Labor’s forthcoming Mapmaker album. The band’s label describes them as “Brooklyn noisepunks”–which is probably as terrifying a description as “German improv-comic troupe”–but unlike a large percentage of the spaz-merchants out there, Parts & Labor actually makes an effort to include an occasional “hook.” Don’t be afraid of hooks, people! They’re so good! We should also mention that Parts & Labor drummer Christopher Weingarten is the editor of Paperthinwalls.com, though one of your Idolators didn’t even know that until about two minutes ago.
