Stuck On Repeat: El-P’s “Truth” Movement

When promo copies of El-P’s I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead were sent out earlier this year, music writers found that their name was uttered repeatedly during each track; as a result, listening to the album was a noisy and confusing (though weirdly ego-boosting) experience. Now that we’ve had more time to listen to a watermark-free edition, we’re just as hooked as everyone else, especially when it comes to brooding numbers like “The Overly Dramatic Truth,” below:
