Every so often, we like to take a look at the Popular Music chart on the blog-popularity engine Technorati. It takes its data from outbound Amazon links, meaning that it’s not an exactly scientific measure of music that’s being talked about in the non-music-blog space. Still, it’s an interesting read, if only because of the way it funhouse-mirrors the top tier of the Billboard 200 (hello, Daughtry!); Nine Inch Nails’ Year Zero, an album that seems to be tailored to the obsessions of bloggers, currently tops the chart. But mixed in is also a bit of overlap with the Hype Machine crowd (Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire) and an alarming amount of third-tier rock (Breaking Benjamin, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, the seemingly indestructible Hinder).

The full chart after the jump.
