From time to time, we make room for the second-tier news stories that occurred during the day, but which don’t warrant separate entries–mostly because they don’t lend themselves to funny kickers.

– The release date for the new Chemical Brothers album, We Are The Night, has been moved until next month due to “artwork problems.” This may not seem too exciting, but in the age of leaks, it has to be of concern to the label, as file-sharing fans will have had more than a month to be bored by the record. [NME] – Steve Earle–who plays a recovering junkie on The Wire–will compose perform the theme song for the show’s fifth and final season. – The front of Rage Against the Machine’s website has a giant clock on it (for those of you who misread part of that sentence and rushed over, our apologies). Anyway, the site plays up August 24th, 2007; that could be a release date for something, or just some in-joke between Zach and Noam Chomsky.
