    In defense of Velvet Revolver live: Even though I’d never buy their albums — and despite having lost interest in STP and even GnR circa puberty — I was confronted with the Slash/Weiland live set as part of the KROQ Weenie Roast a couple years ago, and it was actually sort of awesome. And not even just ironically.

    Wow, that’s pretty awesome that Cat Power beat out nine other releases from such finalists as …herself. There’s a joke in there somewhere, involving self-flagellation, but I don’t have the heart to make it.
