Today’s New York Times profiles Honky Tonk Confidential, a country band fronted by 70-year-old Face The Nation host Bob Schieffer. The group recently played a NYC gig that included many of Schieffer’s CBS co-workers:

Andy Rooney, another CBS News colleague, was there too. When asked for his review after the show, he said, “Not my kind of night.”

“I don’t know why anyone would do this,” added Mr. Rooney, whose seersucker jacket was a stark contrast to the sunglasses and Texas Christian University football jersey Mr. Schieffer wore. “I guess it’s fun. But it’s not my kind of fun.”

He added, “I also tried to get into that Panda Bear stuff, but it’s just so much noisy nonsense. And Bonde do Role? Please! Let’s talk after you write more than one song fifteen times over.”
