Well, that’s it: After nine months and 1,958 posts–only one-third of which were about R. Kelly and/or power pop–I’m finished with Idolator. I’m supposed to do an all-encompassing sign-off rant, but really–does the world need another navel-gazing music-blog post? It’s 74 degrees out and I have the new Ash album on my iPod. I’m going for a walk.

Before I leave, some real liner notes, for once: Thanks to Maura, a fantastic co-worker and cohort; I could not have done this site without her, and I have no doubt that she will make Idolator even better. Thanks to the commenters (well, most of them). Thanks to Noah for suggesting I take the job, Nick for giving it to me, and Lockhart, especially, for helping me out every day. Thanks to Rolling Stone for starting my sarcastic music-nerd career way back in 1994. Thanks to Matos for making Jackin’ Pop work, and thanks to Philadelphia’s now-defunct Bigger Lovers, who wrote this great song in 2002, unknowingly inspiring all those “Coulda-Shoulda-Woulda” posts:

Most importantly, thanks to my fiancée, who has put up with more nonsense than you could imagine. If anyone needs me, I’ll be here.
