Jackyl Breaks Records, Chainsaw Parts

From our “the readers demanded it” files:

BY GOVERNMENTNAMES AT 12:39 PM

No list of silly concert-related Guinness records is complete without a mention of Jackyl. Idolator should repent by posting an embedded “The Lumberjack” YouTube link.

I actually had no idea what Al was talking about, so I did some of that “Internet sleuthing”:

Jackyl broke two Guinness Book of World Records during their 1998 promotion of their greatest hits album Choice Cuts: 100 shows in 50 days and 21 shows in 24 hours. During their streak of 100 shows in 50 days, daytime shows lasted 45 minutes and nighttime shows lasted between 90 and 120 minutes.

Suddenly I feel lazier than usual, if more informed.

Did you happen to check the lineup for the 2007 Moondance Jam… It’s too awesome to be described.

I especially love that they didn’t actually list the schedule, but just inform you whether a “Tribute Band” a “Regional Band” or a “National Band” is on stage.

Fucking awesome, man. Making it happen.

I hope you intend on using that “Jackyl” topic tag now that you’ve created it, by the way. The “Down On Me” video will be there for you on your next slow news day.
