“Law And Order” And Mall Emo… Together At Last

Oct 24th, 2007 // 9 Comments

lando.gifAs if new-school Law And Order couldn’t get any wacker–at least our future president will be leaving next season–they’re now letting emos on as guest stars, with a non-Wentz member of Fall Out Boy making his dramatic debut in the next season.

“The episode is called ‘Darkness,’ and it involves a kidnapping and murder that takes place during a power outage,” NBC spokeswoman Amber James told MTV News. “The wife and daughter of an energy exec are kidnapped, and the housekeeper is murdered, and it turns out Patrick [Stump]‘s character works for the executive’s company. He has two key scenes in the interrogation room and another scene where he’s in the court room, being prosecuted. … He’s completely out of character. It has nothing to do with his band or him being a musician.”

What’s the point of having a musician guest on Law And Order if you’re not going to baldly rip a melodramatic music industry story from the headlines? (Like, I dunno, the bust of a certain torrent site? Mark my words…) It’s an insult to the memory of C Square. I miss Michael Moriarty.

Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump Getting Caught Up In Murder Mystery On ‘Law & Order’ [MTV]

    Ah, C Square. Good stuff. But think about it, now that McCoy has been promoted, he can sleep with all of the female ADAs in the office.

    Oh dear. I’ve said too much. My L&O needle is sticking out of my arm, isn’t it?

  2. Maura Johnston

    @silkyjumbo: Hey, at least you didn’t make a No Bozo Jam reference. Which was my first impulse.

  3. Jess Harvell

    i knew you’d mention no bozo jam within the first three comments.

  4. Maura Johnston

    @jessdolator: I’m almost as predictable as an episode during the Elisabeth Rohm era.

  5. Dickdogfood

    Stump is the chunky one with the delectable sideburns, right? Good times.

  6. Luke N Atmaguchi

    Stump and Ice-T in the same production? A summit of acting greatness that, for the emo generation, equals Olivier and Gielgud.

    And hey, how about a little respect for Jerry Orbach. He’s fucking dead, you know . . .

  7. Maura Johnston

    @Luke N Atmaguchi: dude, ice-t is on svu. keep up!

  8. silkyjumbo

    @maura: “Is it because I’m a lesbian?”

    C’mon, you didn’t see that coming.

  9. scarletvirtue

    @dickdogfood: Yep, that’s him.

    @maura: It’s probably totally wrong, but I almost wished that he would’ve been on SVU. If only because I’d probably want to see Tutuola get medieval on him (oh wait … that’s my hope for Pete Wentz. Never mind.)

    I’ll just go back to my corner and nurse my boycrush on Patrick. :-X
