Vince Neil Can’t Catch A Break

Last night’s Dolphins-Steelers game in Pittsburgh was a soggy affair that wound up being the lowest-scoring game in the NFL since World War II. (The final: 3-0 Pittsburgh.) But the driving rain also snuffed out the traditional performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” which is a shame, since a certain winery owner/hard rock legend was slated to warble it:

MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil will perform the national anthem tonight when the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Miami Dolphins at Heinz Field for ESPN’s “Monday Night Football”.

The game will begin at 8:30 p.m. Eastern/5:30 p.m. Pacific, with Vince’s performance of the anthem taking place just prior to kickoff.

No doubt this rainout upset the commenters on the Blabbermouth report, who were waiting for a performance of the caliber we’ve come to expect from Vince:

“Oh say…seee! … dawn’s… light… proudly… hailed… LEMME HEAR YOU SING IT!! (holds mic out to the crowd)….. And… red glare!!!…. Bursting…. air….”

A nation weeps.
