In the one corner, we have global gal Maya Arulpragasam’s blinding, bitmapped Kala, which manages the feat of wrapping a great album in dot matrix puke. And in the other is American Idol-ette Jordin Sparks’ self-titled debut, which manages the feat of making a pretty girl being groomed for stardom look like a snortin’ mad bull ready to charge.
