Because her young life hasn’t been warped enough, Miley “Hannah Montana” Cyrus has “[extended] her hugely popular concert tour with 14 more performances in January,” by which we’re assuming the AP means “her handlers at Disney are milking this thing until the kids get distracted or Cyrus drops dead.” And for all the hullabaloo about the Hannah Montana tour immediately selling out, purportedly earning Cyrus the highest-grossing-tour for 2007 in the scalpers “secondary” market, Cyrus is currently in sixth place when it comes to U.S. ticket sales–behind a bunch of crusty oldsters.
Cyrus’ tour ranks as the sixth top North American concert tour this week, behind Genesis, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Dave Matthews Band and the Mexican rock band Mana, according to the trade publication Pollstar.
She’s getting lapped by DMB! No wonder Disney is turning this tour into the never-ending Montana extravaganza. Forget Maura not letting me take my afternoon nap; if we’re calling OSHA for anyone, it should probably be Miley.
