New (?) Trina Single Provides Flimsy Excuse To Talk About Trina

If a blog somewhere mentions a new Trina track, you can be assured that it will mentioned in this space by your guest editor. I get the feeling Cake & Ice Cream only posted the Trina’s “Look Back At Me” to use some wire photos they had laying around of Kenyon Martin’s birthday party, but still, the criminally underappreciated label Slip-N-Slide deserves whatever virtual ink it can garner, especially if it means I can present you with “Pull Over” from her first album, Da Baddest Bitch.

Trina’s new disc, cleverly titled Still The Baddest, should be released at some point in February, but after the disappointment of 2006’s Glamorest Life, it feels a little like the glory days have passed us Trina fans by, as she appears on nearly every remix aimed at the Miami market from “Wipe Me Down” to “Lip Gloss” and the law of diminishing returns sets in. Diamond Princess, we’ll always have the memories, if nothing else.
