The Oscar nominations have been announced, and with them come this question from Jess and me: Have you seen Enchanted? Because if you have, then congratulations, you’ve heard three of the five nominees for Best Original Song, which went heavy on the Alan Menken and light on everything else this year. Also: Jonny Greenwood’s score for There Will Be Blood was deemed ineligible for a nomination because “the majority of the music was not composed specifically for the film.” Between that and the Flaming Lips snub, the organizers can kiss the idea of the Stereogum demo tuning in on Feb. 24 goodbye! Full list of music-related nominations after the jump.
