Apparently, Aretha Franklin was some $500 under on payments for her $700,000 mansion–spending money for the Queen of Soul, surely. Apparently, Franklin was unaware of the inconsistency, with the singer emailing her local daily that it would be “taken care of immediately.” And so, apparently, will the rest of nearly $19,000 of underpayments that have piled up over the past couple years, none of which push the house into foreclosure quite yet. Just that $445 from three years ago. Cue “Chain of Fools.” [Detroit Free Press/Photo: AP]
