Idolator’s Guest-Blogger Is Here Because Texas Messed With Her

Hello dear Idolator readers, MTS here. For some people, Tuesday is a day filled with new music releases. For me, it typically involves e-yelling at co-workers not to staple receipts together while feebly attempting to inject Lifehacker’s productivity tips into my workday. (Seriously: does that shit actually work?) Alas, today this is not the case. Texas messed with me in a major way over the weekend, resulting in the loss and/or theft of my driver’s license, ATM card, and cell phone, so I’m trapped at home to tend to the administrivia of my personal life; naturally I leaped at the chance to be a part of the new media machine that is Idolator. At least it gives me something to do while UPS shows up, you know?

Maura says SXSW-related posts are pretty unpopular with you guys, so I’ll try to steer clear of that–feel free to listen to personal recaps on my blog. That said, I feel obliged to share the following photo of us on Sixth Street, taken by our pal Ben High. I’m pretty certain that if we put out a 7″ on Grand Royal in 1995, this would be our band photo. (Only thing that’s missing? It lacks the cross processing aesthetic that was all the rage back then.) Maura’s the one who writes the awesome lyrics, while I’m the funnyman/Bob Nastanovich of the group.
