This is going to be so “so bad it’s good” it’s bad. Maybe liveblog-worthy even.

    Ramiele singing Heart? Seriously?

  2. Maura Johnston

And man, I guess Kristy Lee figured that she had to go the “song closest to ‘Amazing Grace’ as far as yanking heartstrings goes” route in order to stay safe again. UGH.

  3. Rob Murphy

Wow! That list is CRAP-TACULAR!!! Simon will be saying variations on this a lot tonite: “…terrible song choice…”

  4. Maura Johnston

@Rob Murphy: I will probably be throwing around “karaoke” myself.

  5. brasstax

The Kristy Lee Cook thing has got to be a joke, right? Please say it’s a joke!

  6. Rob Murphy

I’ll confess to being interested in seeing what Carly will do with that song. I suspect she’s been singing it for years.

  7. Thierry

I’m thinking this has to be a joke – not just because of Kristy Lee Cook (I wonder if she’ll wear star-spangled ripped jeans), but also because of the TWO Sting songs (“Every Breath You Take” may be one of the worst songs to sing on Idol, as it only has two notes, except in the bridge where you actually have to try to sound out of tune/”pitchy”), Ramiele doing Heart, etc.

If these are the actual picks, this episode could be a masterpiece of an abomination.

  8. Thierry

@Rob Murphy: That’s the most plausible pick in the list, IMHO. I can already hear her sing it.

  9. byproxy

@Rob Murphy: Who hasn’t been singing it for years??? It’s probably a top-ten all time shower song.

  10. Chris Molanphy

Anybody else besides me want to punch David Cook for that scowl in the photograph? Dude, not smiling isn’t “rock.”

  11. Anonymous

    @Chris Molanphy:

You say scowling, I say channeling Corky from Life Goes On.

  12. Thierry

@Maura Johnston: Or maybe the “letdown spot”. Kirsty Lee’s performance was too awesome for words. I fully expect her to do “Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue” during Country Week.

  13. Captain Wrong

If I was doing a song from the year I was born, it’d have to be “Send in the Clowns” or something by Captain and Tennille.

    Shit, I feel old.

  14. Maura Johnston

@Captain Wrong: how do you think michael johns feels? he was the only idol who had to pick a song from the ’70s. i might throw him a vote based on that alone.

  15. Artie Fufkin

Was that girl’s mom wearing a horse fucker t shirt?
Why would they blur out a horse shirt?

  16. jenocyde

Worst episode yet. At least we got to laugh at the ugly baby pictures…

  17. Thierry

I’m shocked Idol didn’t have any flyover budget for Kirsty Lee Cook’s performance!

  18. Manifestation

@Thierry: Don’t worry, they break the record every week.

  19. Thierry

Damn. The spoilers seem correct – I CANNOT WAIT for Kirsty Lee. I hope she closes the night.

  20. Maura Johnston

@Thierry: she’s second-last. david cook gets the pimp spot this evening.

  21. Solid web site. I acquired a whole lot of great info. I?ve been preserving an eye on this technology for awhile. It?s interesting how it retains varying, nevertheless some of the core elements remain the identical. Have you seen much change considering that Google made their latest acquisition inside the field?
