High Places Get Our Heads Spinning

Another member of the “bands I discovered over the past six months that I really like” club is the Brooklyn duo High Places, whose neverending loops and funhouse-mirror vocals make me think of a fever-dream version of The Blow. Despite being short on manpower, their live shows are pretty entrancing affairs, and Pitchfork.TV is streaming a recent show of theirs right now. (Set opener “Head Spins” is embedded above.) Recommended especially if you need help easing into your Friday afternoon zone-out session. [Pitchfork.tv]
