Kanye West Does Not Care About North Dakota

Whether due to low ticket sales or Mr. West wanting a day off, the Fargo, N.D. date of the Glow In The Dark tour has been canceled. The date came between gigs in Chicago and Winnipeg, and it’s not surprising that a sluggish response from North Dakotans would inspire Kanye to say, “Why was I going to play in North Dakota when I could spend another day in Chicago challenging celebrities to games of Connect Four! Man, I love Connect Four! I’m the greatest person on earth and I challenge people to games of Connect Four! Chess? What’s that? I only obsess about games designed for seven-year-olds. Because I’m awesome.”

“I can’t really make it a secret that ticket sales were not as anticipated,” Fargodome manager Rob Sobolik told Fargo’s Forum newspaper. “Obviously, we talked about ticket sales.” Another promoter wasn’t exactly sure of West’s reasoning for canceling the performance over the holiday weekend.

“I honestly can’t say what the exact reasoning is,” said another promoter of the Glow in the Dark tour in North Dakota.

“Maybe it’s just a vacation day. Who knows?”

Currently, the only other acts scheduled to play the Fargodome this summer are Sawyer Brown, The Johnny Holm Band, Diamond Rio, and Soul Asylum (!), all of whom are on the bill for next month’s four-day Fargo Rib Fest. Hey, maybe that has something to do with it.
