Depeche Mode To Warner Music Group: “Enjoy Our Silence”

Hits is reporting that Depeche Mode has severed ties with Warner Music Group because they felt “underserved” by the company’s current regime; they join Madonna and Nickelback as acts who have fled from Warner’s pastures over recent months. All of Depeche Mode’s U.S. releases dating back to their debut, 1981’s Speak & Spell, had come out on the Warner subsidiary Sire; outside of the States, their music is handled by the EMI-administered label Mute, a situation that doesn’t look like it’s going to change anytime soon. No word on what their plans are for their next album or tour. [Hits / YouTube]
