Roland Clark And The Montanas Have A License To Amuse

It would appear that Rye Playland has moved on from the hard-rock era, as White Lion was nowhere to be heard during my outing there over the weekend. However, in addition to playing nearly every single that Chris Brown and Lil Wayne have put out this year, the Westchester County amusement park’s sound system drenched thrill-seekers in boomy dance music, with the playlist including a version of the Pussycat Dolls’ “When I Grow Up” that made the song even more annoying and a seemingly cobbled-together dance remix of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida.” The best discovery of the night, though, was the Fred Falke remix of Roland Clark & The Montanas’ “Music Talking,” a big, expansive track that glowed even more brightly underneath the old-timey carnival-ride bulbs dotting the park. Information on the track is scarce, although I’m definitely interested to check out this BBC radio show from the weekend that mixed it in. [YouTube; HT Miccio]
