A New York judge ordered 50 Cent to hold on to the Long Island property that formerly housed a 5,200-square-foot home, which burned to the ground last month after being the center of a protracted legal battle between 50 and his ex-girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins. Also, any insurance proceeds from the fire have to be put into a trust. Suffolk County arson investigators are still looking into the fire, which is naturally falling into the “highly suspicious” category. Somewhat related: Anyone else think it’s somewhat morbid that Newsday‘s Web site is providing a map to the house, complete with allowing users to calculate directions from their present location? I’m all for news that you can use, but this seems a bit “ugh.” [Newsday]
