“Life On Mars” Gets A Little Dusty

Last night’s episode of Life On Mars was a little bit heavy-handed script-wise for me, with the somewhat mawkish way that it handled its Important Statements About How Far Society’s Attitudes Toward Homosexuality Have Come In The Past 35 Years (Complete With Button-Pushing Kid), but who can argue with shots of old subway entrances and Dusty Springfield being included on the soundtrack? “Just A Little Lovin’,” from the 1969 classic Dusty In Memphis, snaked its way into the show, much to my ears’ delight.
