Keith Sweat Takes A Break From Sexing Ladies Up To Enjoy Chicken Products

Dec 5th, 2008 // 9 Comments

It’s been awhile since there’s been quality Keith Sweat news, which is disappointing because Idolator’s last tribute post to the first man of smoove produced one of my favorite comments ever on this site, courtesy of “dynikki”: “i know i have 3 off his songs and if i hadnt shut down shop, i would have more. keith is the best of all times and his songs never get old. keep it coming keith.” While Keith’s new track isn’t quite as likely to encourage baby-makin’, it might get you to purchase some processed pieces of poultry.

Thanks to the corporate magnificence of McDonald’s—and Keith’s apparent love of bite-sized snacks—we finally get to hear what it would sound like if Keith made love to some nuggets. Vocally, I mean.

The “Nobody” singer loves McNuggets so much that he’s penned a song called “ode to Chicken Nuggets” — yes we’re serious.

Sweat will debut the exclusive track on his nationally syndicated radio show, ‘The Sweat Hotel’ to honor the 25th anniversary of McDonald’s iconic menu item….

If you love McDonald’s Chicken Nuggets as much as Keith Sweat does, he’s holding a contest at the aforementioned website with the grand prize winner, who will be dubbed ‘the biggest self-proclaimed “McNuggets Lover,” winning a “McNuggets Mania” prize pack filled with McDonald’s arch cards (similar to gift certificates) and more.

Now, if Sweat had penned an ode to the Chik-Fil-A sandwich, I would have been a little more on board. But since we are talking about the manager of the Sweat Hotel, I feel like I have to give him a pass on the particulars of his chicken preferences. (Maybe there isn’t a Chik-Fil-A near his crib.)

In the meantime, enjoy a little “Make It Last Forever”, just like how we’ll enjoy McNuggets forever, and possibly indigestion as well.

And here I was hoping that “McNugget” was some sort of euphemism.

There is a very simple test to determine who is in fact the biggest chicken mcnugget lover: whomever can eat one sans sauce.

I interned at Elektra records about 5 years back while they were releasing that last LSG record. I can’t tell you how many times I came home from work with “Let me tell you ’bout the other day (heh)/Met this girl from around the way…” stuck in my head.

    @K-Rex: I can!

    I [blushes] love Chicken McNuggets.

What can I say, it’s primal for me. They came out when I was, like, nine, and I remember trying them for the first time when my Dad took us to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. (Dating myself.) They could be made of formaldehyde, and I’d have trouble giving them up. And yeah, I’ve seen Super-Size Me and Fast Food Nation.

Anyway: this only makes me love the Sweat-man more. If it’s a dream, please don’t wake me up…

@Chris Molanphy: i loved them too. and i still do. does anyone remember when mcdonald’s had a vote between chicken mcnuggets and the big mac, and the big mac won? i got so pissed. little did i know that my backing of the underdog would become a pattern.

Keith Sweat has been in gossiped about a lot lately because his ex-wife is one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta and he wouldn’t allow their children to appear on the show. I realize that might not count as “quality news,” though!

    On a related note…

Has anyone else seen the new McDonald’s commercials that feature the newest word invented by an ad agency, “nuggnuts” ?

(Update: wow. I decided to do Google “nuggnuts” just now, cuz I couldn’t remember the context in which the “word” was used in the commercial, and it turns out this is one of those full-blown ad campaigns: There’s a Swear to God.)

Anyway, the reason I’m asking about all this: am I the only one who thinks “nuggnuts” is wayyy too similar to “numbnuts” ?

I hope they do more nuggnuts commericals. Ad campaigns with this much potential for unintended hilarity don’t come around often enough…

@Maura Johnston: OMG YES!!! I voted for McNeuggets too, and like you I was so pissed when Big Mac won!

Wait for it: I actually tuned into my local TV station on the appointed day when they were going to run the commercial announcing the winner.

Wow, this makes my childhood sound especially sad.

@teemoney415: This just makes me admire Keith Sweat more.

@teemoney415: That news is DEFINITELY quality. Thanks for the update.
