Mott The Hoople Reunite, Probably Will Never Play Near My House

The golden age of Mott the Hoople was short-lived (three studio albums) and the band’s name was largely dragged through the mud by the post-Ian Hunter era, but despite any reasonable reservations I probably should have, an item on the band’s getting back together is about as big as non-Coachella-related news gets for me. I’m not sure how glam rock works exactly for those pushing 70, but we’ll find out together in October, when the band hits the Hammersmith Apollo in London. All I ask is this: Can we agree right now to not attribute the reunion to the success of the Juno soundtrack? A selection of the band’s best tracks below the cut.
