Tough Break, Summer Festivals: My Concert Dollar Is Going To Slow Jams Live

I admit that I participated in the Coachella hype machine, following each rumor and whisper. But now that a lineup I’m moderately pleased with is finally out and Bonnaroo has offered up its rebuttal, where will our multi-act musical entertainment come from? God bless you, Sunday Nite Slow Jams host R-Dub, for bringing a concert lineup nearly too good to be true to a location reasonably close to my house.

While not quite as killer as the Keith Sweat / Ne-Yo / Ginuwine / Shai combo of 2007, this year’s Sunday Nite Slow Jams Live schedule is a nearly perfect blend of acts I want to hear three or four songs from:

Jagged Edge (“Let’s Get Married [remix]”):

Ginuwine (“Pony”):

Bell Biv Devoe (“Poison”):

Frankie J (with Baby Bash, “Obsession”):

Bobby Valentino (“Anonymous”):

Pleasure P (“Rock Bottom” ft. Lil Wayne):

If those stellar acts weren’t quite enough, there are four more, two of which I haven’t actually heard of before. What makes me even a bit happier about this show, besides the quite reasonable ticket price, is that there’s another Slow Jams show in Phoenix the previous night, but with only four of the above acts and no Ginuwine or BBD. Think about all the cruel jokes you people have made at Tucson’s expense on Feb. 22, while we’re getting busy with Bobby Valentino on Feb. 22. Sweet revenge!
