I know I said Friday that we shouldn’t be embarrassed about the music we liked in the 90s, but I am probably never going to feel really good about liking Aerosmith’s ’90s megahit Get a Grip as much as I did back then, given that I know damn well it wasn’t all pure musical interest. Nevertheless, the trio of videos for “Cryin’,” “Crazy,” and “Amazing” have a certain sort of primal magnificence to them, serving as a sort of Jimmy Monet to the more Dwayne-y Use Your Illusion trilogy—but anyway, the point is, this analysis makes a good case that they symbolize Steven Tyler having sex with himself. It’s a winner. [the 21 gun salute!]
