If you’re an indie rock nerd, you’ve probably wondered about the notice on the cover of Slint’s Spiderland directing interested female vocalists to write to an address in Louisville, Ky. The request was apparently sincere, and even garnered some responses (including a note from one Polly Jean Harvey). But what about that address? Never having been to Louisville, I envisioned a dumpy one-story house with a bunch of equipment set up in the living room, settled amongst neighbors who didn’t care. Well, one enterprising blogger made the trip out, and discovered… a lovely, ivy-covered two-story house with a well-maintained lawn. Who woulda thunk? [the decibel tolls; h/t PGWP]
