Kanye West Now Serving As Other Pop Stars’ Publicist In His Spare Time

I love when celebrities use their online personae for good, namely debunking rumors that fly around gossip sites in the endless game of Internet Telephone Played By People Wearing Earplugs; Mark Hoppus denying the rumors about the new blink-182 single, Pete Wentz noting that 50 Cent wasn’t off the Fall Out Boy tour, etc. (Of course, these semi-official mouthpieces sometimes can be abused by people who want to bend the truth, but that’s why it’s always important to consider the source.) But the king of the “clarity post” is Kanye West, and apparently he’s not above outsourcing his megaphone; today he took to his MacBook Air to inform people that, contrary to popular belief, Lady GaGa was not supplying backing vocals to the recently leaked Rihanna song “Silly Boy,” which has finally started to reach the creakier corners of the Internet after debuting online last month. So, duly noted! The vocals on the song are so processed that I wasn’t even sure it was Rihanna singing, to be honest. Anyway, if you’d like to hear this vertigo-inducing slice of pop, it’s after the jump.
