Kanye West Wants All You Losers Who Read To Buy His Book

May 26th, 2009 // 6 Comments

“Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed… I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book’s autograph. I am a proud non-reader of books. I like to get information from doing stuff like actually talking to people and living real life,” the caps-locked MC told Reuters. Is that why the book is a mere “52 pages–some blank, others with just a few words”–even though he had a co-writer on the project? Is one supposed to carry it around in public as a way to say “hey, guys, I’m an information-getting person who wants to do stuff like actually talk to you”? I guess it’s less dorky than a “FREE HUGS” T-shirt… [Reuters]

  1. The sad thing is somebody will actually buy this.

  2. @juiceandgin: Amazon.com Sales Rank: #19,873 in Books

  3. ‘I would never want a book’s autograph’ sounds like something straight out of Hipster Runoff. Parody becomes reality!

  4. This coming from Kanye makes sense after all those goofy anti-education skits on College Dropout, but I thought he had Graduated. Ah well. Peace through war. Knowledge through ignorance.

  5. Sometimes I wish he wasn’t such a total idiot but then I remember that he wouldn’t be half as fun.

  6. …Plus this book is super-duper old. They were given out at ‘Glow in the Dark’ tour dates last spring/summer. I guess ol’ boy is trying to get rid of some back stock!

    Oh, Kanye!
