Songsmith-focused magazine Performing Songwriter is shutting down production after its next issue. The magazine had been publishing for 16 years, and according to publisher and founder Lydia Hutchinson, it was completely ad-supported for the entirety of its existence, and it wasn’t about to let a sour economy change that: “By ceasing publication now we know the magazine will never risk losing its integrity and or its quality. All of us here are grateful for this journey, and feel like we’ve crossed the finish line with our heads held high.” [Music Row]
