Time to bust out siren.jpg: The Jonas Brothers are playing a free show in New York City tonight, where they’ll preview tracks from their forthcoming album Lines, Vines, and Trying Times for a crowd of fever-pitched fans, who will get in on a first-come, first-served basis. (And I’d already made plans to hang out in the Union Square area anyway! Awesome!) In addition to the idea that I might be able to get tickets, of particular interest to me is just where Billboard says this show is happening:

Teen pop sensations the Jonas Brothers will perform a free club concert tonight (June 11) at Irving Plaza in New York City.

Irving Plaza? Not the mouthful that is “Fillmore at Irving Plaza”? Could it be? Has Live Nation come to its senses in New York like it did in Philadelphia? Or is this just the Billboard copyeditors’ sneaky way to help beleaguered parents who are being rallied by their children to easily find the place, since damned if they remember any show at any New York venue called “the Fillmore” that didn’t involve pulling out a dusty old Grateful Dead record?
