Mariah Carey’s Lambs Will Not Remain Silent In The Face Of Their Heroine Maybe Flopping

Mariah Carey’s comeback single “Obsessed” has stalled on the charts after two weeks thanks to soft demand from digital-singles buyers. And this fact is not sitting well with her “lambs,” a.k.a. her biggest fans. So what are they going to do? How about holding a good old fundraiser—with some people ponying up as much as 80 smackers—so multiple copies of “Obsessed” can be bought, and Mimi can be restored to her rightful position on the charts.

From a suspiciously recently launched blog belonging to “allamb”:

Mariah Carey’s new single, Obsessed, has just fallen from number 11 to number 20 in only its second week. This looks to be the biggest flop for Mariah since “Loverboy,” which we lambs made a hit by gathering together and buying several copies. We can do the same for “Obsessed.”

I am asking you to make a donation to wannaknowlove@gmail.com. I will spend my time buying several copies of the single. I have already collected $80 from one fan. If you don’t feel comfortable with that, we are setting Saturday as “Obsessed” download day. Please download at least five copies! By the remixes! Mariah needs our help!

In the comments, people are claiming that they have donated $50 and $30, and one person claimed to have given $200 to the cause (????). The blog putting out this plea was actually started on Friday, so who knows if it’s actually the work of some weird double-agent trying to extort Carey’s crazier fans while making them look even more insane, or an overzealous intern put to work by a terrified-for-his-job Def Jam employee. Also, if this attempt to storm the Hot 100 doesn’t work, does everyone get a refund, or at least a chance to re-sell their gently used MP3s on Bopaboo?

We need to help Mariah Carey! [Allamb’s Blog via No Rock And Roll Fun]
