Aqua ‘Spin’ Into The Holiday Spirit
It should hardly be a surprise that the artists who once dreamed up “Barbie Girl” still know how to merchandise. Along with the release of their Greatest Hits collection, Danish cheeseballs Aqua released a darkly buzzworthy video for “My Mamma Said” and now comes a nicely timed holiday jam, “Spin Me Your Christmas.” It’s like they somehow knew Christmas was coming.
Thankfully it’s not a yuletide mashup with Dead Or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)” or Flo Rida’s “Right Round.” It’s simply a bonus track the band is tacking onto the re-release of their hits set in Denmark.
Clichéd lyrics aside (“Yeah, tonight’s the night everything’s gonna be alright!”), “Spin Me Your Christmas” should at least provide a little cardio pep to your holiday shopping step. Barbie would approve.
